Drishtipat Stall at the BAFI Program, 2007

Drishtipat has successfully participated in the BAFI convention 2007. Drishtipat set up a stall in the convention. Also, a good number of DP brochures were distributed.  We also collected names and email address of the persons interested about DP and its work. In addition, the movie "Dehshantori" and DP T-shirts were sold too. Tasks accomplished in the program are shown below:

1. Set up stall in BAFI convention (for 2 days).
2. Distribute brochures.
3. Sell DP T-shirt
4. Sell Deshantori DVD.
5. Show the film Deshantori on convention conference center.
6. Distribute brochure during NYBAP's dinner at Café Taj.
7. A joint lecture session was conducted by Lopa Apa, Muhit Bhai and Kawsar Bhai

regarding the development projects they and DP have been involved with.

Thanks to the whole DP team for their effort. A special thank goes to Kawsar Bhai for his continuous help during the convention.

Drishtipat Virginia Launching Ceremony / Screening of "Deshantori"

Drishtipat Virginia has successfully organized its launching ceremony on the 31 st March, 2007 . The program acknowledged Drishtipat's objective and focused on its previous and ongoing campaigns. Moreover, the program also focused on the Drishtiapt Virginia's successful campaign of project "Save Bhobodoho" and a detailed plan for future work.

At the end of the program, the movie "Deshantori" was screened. The movie was greatly appreciated among the viewers and they expressed their desire to see more of this kind of movie in the near future.

The daily Jugantor and the Shujon Shomabesh successfully distributed the money among the students in Jessore. The event took place in the " Moshiahati Degree College ". The co-editor of the Daily Jugantor , Mr. Shahjahan Shordar, was present in the ceremony.

Very special thanks to the whole crew of the Jugantor for taking the responsibility to distribute the money in Jessore.

The program started off at exactly 6:30 p.m.
6:30 - National Anthem - the full national anthem - the lady from ASK was
amazing. Brilliantly done
6:33 - Tanim's intro on the program. Since I checked the script he wrote - it
was good.
6:36 - Rumi bhai's speech - gave a very brief description of Dristipat and its
history. Precise and short.
6:39 - Roney bhai's speech - touched on the DP Va chapter and its efforts.
mentioned what was the original goals, acknowledged BUET, BRAC, Chetona.
Described the fund raising and future efforts.
6:53 - Documentary - was a very good demonstration
6:57 - Baikuntha Bihari Ray's speech. His speech to me sounded genuine and
touched the real problems with very real examples.
7:07 - Shukriti Mondol - A coordinator of Bhobodoho nagorik shonghoti Parisad.
just told us what has been done by them.
7:09 - Zafar Iqbal - gave a short and witty description on what he has seen and
what should be done for the people Bhobodoho.
7:16 - Lt. gen. Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury - a mere two minutes that covered what
we can do, what we must not expect others do. very short but very precise.
7:18 - cheque handover - Golam Sarwar, SKC, MZI, HMC was present on the stage.
7:20 - Golam Sarwar - touched on a few points of how the money was going to be
distributed.
7:25 - SKC - Concluded the program by thanking everyone and asked all involved
to stay true to the goals that have been set.
7:30 - Conclusion of the program.

Reporters from Janakantha, Channel I, Dailiy Star, Sangbad, Jugantor were
present.
