Those who are saving a pond and saving lives by contributing to this project

Drishtipat has officially completed the third fundraiser for the Arsenic victims in West Shapania village. The fund collected has been a little more than what we targeted. Our original target was $3500 and we collected $3850. The collected money will be channelled to Brotee via Bangladesh Environment Network. Brotee already started mobilizing the village people to form Gono Gobeshona Dal. The money will be utilized for the pond preservation (safe drinking water solution) and treatment of the Arsenicosis victims. Drishtipat would like to acknowledge work of those who were involved with this project, in particular Shahnaz Yousuf, the web developer, Zoey Farooq, the appeal writer, Shahid Ahmed, the researcher, Mahmood Farooqe, Dr. Saleh Tanveer, Dr. Nazrul Islam of BEN and Sharmeen Murshid of Brotee, Dr. Omar Farooq of Shetubondhon for the fund collection and moderators of Muktomona, Alochona and NFB for help with spreading the message on fund-raising. We thank everyone who came forward for the cause and who took initiative to spread the appeal and for whom it is possible for us the collect the necessary amount within this short time frame.
