Drishtipat is a non-profit, non-political expatriate Bangladeshi organization committed to safeguarding every individual's basic democratic rights, including freedom of expression, and is opposed to any and all kinds of human rights abuses in Bangladesh .
Fera, branching off from Drishtipat, is a summer internship program that gives young expatriate Bangladeshis an opportunity to play an active role in contributing to public service in Bangladesh. Ultimately, Fera serves to offer the young people of the Bangladeshi diaspora a greater understanding of Bangladesh .

Many organizations in Bangladesh are short staffed and are in need of additional human capital. In addition to fulfilling this service, Fera allows non-resident second generation Bangladeshis (NRBs), who are strongly interested in learning more about Bangladesh, to familiarize themselves about pressing issues in the country. Given their international education and experience, the interns will be able to provide fresh perspective and infuse their ideas into the organization while gaining valuable experience by working in the country. This is an opportunity for NRB-RB networking and can also help in long term capacity building for the HR organizations in Bangladesh . Ultimately, our hope is to create space for exchange and dialogue between Bangladeshis that will help foster a stronger public sector in Bangladesh . |

Drishtipat would like to create a sustainable program through which young expatriate Bangladeshis can create linkages with their roots and get involved in the improvement of Bangladesh by contributing to public service. Our goal is to create greater awareness of the country, to strengthen the links between Bangladesh and the international Bangladeshi community, and to build bridges towards cooperation and development in Bangladesh.
