In commemoration of International Mother Language Day, Drishtipat Chicago organized a fund raiser event on March 21, 2004 for beneniting the women veterans of the 1971 war. The program was a great success. Drishtipat Chicago raised USD 1800 in a preliminary count, and the figure may reach USD 3000 after additional pledges are made available. A final official number will be released on the website as soon as it becomes available.
