Painting helps me to arrive at a point of mental clarity. More than the end result, I enjoy the process. The journey of painting helps me in ways that are therapeutic in nature and defines where I am and helps me to decide what direction to take. When I visually plot it out on a canvas, it is like a mental map that converges my feelings, thoughts and intuition at that point. After creating an art work, I feel that I have understood concepts that were elusive before that point. Some folks do that with music, others through movement and dance, I find I express best through slow deliberation via the medium of oil on canvas.
