The audience comprised of a diverse background of individuals from various countries and cultures. Additionally, the audience members came from a variety of professions, educational backgrounds and interests.

Professor Sugata Bose, Gardiner Professor of Oceanic History and Affairs, Harvard University, addressed the audience as the Keynote Speaker. Mr. Anis Ahmed, Broadcaster at Voice of America, Washington, DC, was the Special Guest Speaker to the event. Mr. Ahmed spoke of the politicization of religion, and the need for in-depth understanding of the current situation afoot before effective measures can be taken to ensure protection of human rights in Bangladesh.

The photo-essay was one of the main highlights of the event, depicting the need for civil involvement in safeguarding human rights in Bangladesh.
