‘Name war criminals by Oct 15′, said the sectors commanders. But they don’t tell us how they will be identified.
Just like this picture, the progressive movement in Bangladesh is toothless, gimmicky and resides safely under the cover of media and a one that is cofined in a drawing room. No offence to these good folks and commanders but there has to be some new direction to this madness movement. When will media stop focusing on these gimmicks and start highlighting the real thing? How about starting with ONE war criminal and bringing specific charges against him before launching into such grandiosity. Prabir Shikdar, we need you.

The faces in the footage and the so called sushils are all moronic but drawing-room and consulate level conspirators. For them we have been ordained to the mega-malady of 1/11.
They start crying for the trial of war criminal and other off-base issues. When the country comes to the point of political stability and on track of economic prosperity and development these guys, mostly likely the agents of their foreign masters, through debase media start propaganda war to destablize the country.
These folks even can’t define what’s war criminality.
They start with talk of trial of war criminals and they mix up the issue with trial of colllaborators and supporters of Pakistans who opposed the war of Independence. Those people among the collaborators who participated in different anti-liberation forces and involved in killings, rapings, lootings and arsions of innocent people are war criminals. Just mere supporting the cause of united Pakistan was not an offence, rather it was their democratic right.
Moreover, two great leaders of the country late Sheik Mujib and Ziaur Rahman had pardoned all of the war criminals and collaborotors in two phases, although the arresting of the later for not supporting the cause of independence was illegal and undemocratic. Once the duely mandated elected leaders pardon any criminals, I believe, there is any legal way to revert the clemency of ex-executives of the country. The pardoned people can be charged with new offence, not for the offence once pardoned.
Those who demands those absurd trials they don’t do it with the sole intent of putting them face trial for alleged war criminality. Read the entire transcript of the forum’s news conference. Retired Lt Gen. Mr. Harun while demanding trial and listing of the war criminals, he commented, the Jamat at the inception of party started to committ all the political misdeeds. This type of statement tells that they are not hell-bent on trying them for their specific crimes during our liberatioin war. They are only against the Jamat while there were many other parties and forces engaged in the same kind of activities but they aren’t running after them. Actually they are agaisnt them due to their political prominence and potentials. If anyone out of Jamat fold but had the same or more severe role than Jamat, the GADANI and the forum will start to chase behind him and demand trial of war criminality. These facts elucidate their ill undemocratic political designs.
These guys don’t believe in democracy. If they have been democratic they would have been voted to power by our democratically conscious electorates. The guy like AK Khondoker had no guts to face Nizami in election. Many of them when contest in election their deposit money get consficated. They should give their candidates against those so called alleged war criminal candidates and expose them about their roles in 1971. People have the judgement and choices whom to choose or not. But they won’t do it because they are just agents of mischiefs and disservice to the nation.
It doesn’t mean that once somebody had glorius role in the war can’t get derailed anytime later. The best example is this sector commander forum. On the contray, so is, one who once opposed the war of independence can’t get their stand chaged anytime later. The best example here is the role of Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan that opposed the creation of Pakistan but later it sacrificed best to protect unity, sovereignity and independence of Pakistan.
Finally, those guys who committed crimes they did it as citizens of Pakistan in the east wing of the-then Pakistan. Independent Bangladesh was practically and officially non-existent until December 16, 1971. And there were no guiding laws of exile Bangladesh govt to punish them. So the criminals can’t be tried, ‘per my view, under the purview of Bangladeshi laws for the crime committed at the time of it’s non-existence. Only the Pakistani or International laws can try them for their crimes if it’s feasible. But that have been made almost impossible by the Indira-Mujib-Bhutto singing the contract of understanding for mutual interest of the countries involved.
Thanks.
