Its ironic that (”Crank that Soulja Boy - by Soulja boy” and “Cyclone - by Baby Bash”) gets much more attention in the western media than our own soulja boy( Moeen?!!?) and cyclone (hurricane Sidr).
It was the same 16 years ago and I don’t Expect much of a difference 16 years from now.

In England, the coverage of the cyclone has been very good. BBC is doing a splendid job. What about other areas of the world? Can you let us know how much news your are getting from the local media in your part of the world?

CNN, FOX, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC - probably covered the story for less than three minutes each on average. But I might be wrong..

They are giving update pretty much every other hour. I saw lots of local channels also giving updated news including one in this mornings local news of a Boston channel.

Disaster preparedness and management in Bangladesh has improved markedly in the ten years since that inundation. What it means however is that the significant drop in the loss of human life makes it more difficult to mobilize support, even if livelihood infrastructure and ecology have been devastated.
