Anyone has detail on a Singapore conference last week where a delegation led by Dr. Yunus and Mahfuz Anam did not have one negative things to say about rampant rights violation under this govt and presented a very bright picture of today’s Bangladesh? What are they seeing that we are not seeing? Perhaps, we too should be cheerful about the following kind of news like them ?

3 army officials made ACC directors
    Staff Correspondent
Three military officers have been made directors of the Anti-Corruption Commission, says an establishment ministry order.
They are Major Mesbahul Islam, Major Mohammad Maksudur Rahman and Major Shahriar Ahmed Amin.
The posts of eight deputy secretaries of the administration have been reshuffled, a separate order said on Monday.
Among the deputy secretary level officers, additional district magistrate of Jessore Sheikh Mujubur Rahman and officer on special duty MA Salam have been made regional executive officers of Dhaka City Corporation.

Where is General Moeen U Ahmed? He is out of public view since October 28. As Bangladesh has regressed into sovient union style closed society, like those soviet days, visibility of the leaders are the only available information one can use to analyze current sate of the government.

Mafuz Anam is pissed because DGFI went after his financial supporter, Transcom. He was neutral upto a certain point, but what he says now is out of fury instead of logic.

I am just astonished the number of trips and conferences the Army has to attend. Its always someone taking a trip (on public money). Mashud of ACC continues to act like the savior of the country by pointing to people who haven’t done anything.

Case in point: the MP car cases. ACC has filed cases against everyone from the MP, importer, reseller and local car agent. Remember all these people were under the assumption that it was the norm to import and resell an MP car.

Whereas Army employees sell their rations, houses and government benefits and no one files an ACC case against them. They buy new Nissan SUVs when they should be traveling on the back of trucks. Their wives have a staff of 5 people. Your blog should write an article about this. Why does the army have such luxuries in a third world country?

Nope, ACC finds nothing against them. Instead they went after a car importer.

Can you provide any evidence that a Army person bought a car by stealing the government fund?

I think you do not know Gen. Mashud personally that’s why you could easily made a comment like that. FYI he is the first person who submitted his personal assets and liabilities information before joining as the chairman of ACC. Can you give me an example who did it before in BD? I personally know him and can assure you if you find any honest person in Army(as you beleive they are all corrupt like politicians) that is Gen Mashud that’s why he has the guts to submit wealth statement to ACC.

It is true like others professionals some army persons are also corrupt but compared to civil servant the degree of corruption of a army person is much less than a civil servant.

“Indepenedent Judiciary” another blunder or mis-step by the government. People, almost all, appreciated our constitutional annexation of Care-Taker system for conducting free and fair election. It didn’t take too long to get proven that it was a big mistake and poisoned the very democratic spirit.

Our current political mess is the result of adopting CTG in our constitution.

Likewise, I believe, independent judiciary will prove very wrong, not far-off time. The current moral standard of our nation is at its nadir. As the judges are someone from us, nobody from heavens or chastened before anointed as judge, morality of them no better than anybody of us.

With that low morality, they can for own greed or interest may hang the innocents or murderers can be set-free as innocents by thier so called independent verdicts. Even they can give some verdict that maybe tantamounting to a sell-out of the country.

    Thanks.

    OUR HISTORY BOOK:

I want to know how many votes GMUA can caste. Does constitution or any law approve him more than one votes? DOES DEMOCRACY PERMITS HIM TO ENJOY MORE RIGHTS THAN YOU ANY OF US?

How he dares to take the decision for the whole nation on the most debated political issues like the father of the nation or declarer of independenc, or who are our national leaders or not!

HE [GMUA] CAN WALK HIS OWN DOG AS HE LIKES BUT HE CAN’T WALK THE NATION AS HIS WILD-WEIRD WHIMS.

We understand, the nation is divided on the above some issues and these’re national political issues. Political leadership failed to forge national consensus on those issues and in real life, they’re silly issues, but vital to our crazy nation, though. We do need to solve those issues but not by gun-orders. These issues should be settled politcally, no matter when it’s feasible. Free fair referendum can solve those problems.

BUT WHO IS TO BELL THE CAT! Who can conduct free fair referedum!

In my 50 ups age, I didn’t see free fair elections except the one in 1970 under the idiot leadership of General Aga Mohammed Yahya Khan, Sadre Pakistan, whence Sheik Mujib emerged as the majority leader. After that Sheik Mujib, Zia, Ershad, Shahabuddin, Habibur Rahman, Latifur Rahman either failed to conduct free fair election or to convince the Haru-Party leadership that the elections were free and fair.

GMUA took the project of straightening the our distorted history. And next books our coming for our kids. There, it says by order of GMUA Sheik is the FON. Well that’s not the only fixing of the follies of national history. Text books also say, Sheik Mujib declared independent on the 26th March and ZIA read it on 27th March for the greater leader Sheik Mujib from Kalur Ghat Radio. CTG thinks the whole nation is moron and have no iota of knowledge and wisdom.

Only the most stupid can think in that way.

Question? What was the job of Zia at that time? Was he a major in the pak army or an announcer or news-reader of Kalurghat Radio. If some news or announcement with big value or mini value or no value comes to the desk it can be read or annouced by the regular news casters or announcers. How did Shaheed Zia go over there! Was Shaheed Zia the relief employee or substitues for a news caster or announcer? Only an extreme retarded can say so.

By complusion, let me agree that Zia read the Sheik Mujib’s declaration. But at the zero hour of 26 the March, 1971, Zia revolted and started to fight against the Pak Army while Sheik Mujib was perhaps, in military prison van or jeep with Pakistani army castody. Here two cents questioin, did Zia revolted to comply with the order of Commander-in-Chief of Bangladesh Army, Sheik Mujibur Rahman or Zia from himself.
Only the dolico-cephaic people can think that way.

There are other thing coming in the text book, the names of our other national leaders. So far I could gather the information from daily “Amar Desh” Shree Tajuddin was not in the list of our national leader. Another drunk-decision. To my best neutral judgement, for the most pro-people patriotic visionary and discretionary succesful leadership in our 9-month long liberation war, I award him the highest score, even above that of Sheik Mujib.
Now he is not part of our history of independence. This is the ever best most unadultered history of Bangladesh worthy of having place in Guiness world of Record.

Eishob matalder matlami jakhon dekhi, Tokhan Balte Icche Hoye Dharoni Dedha Hoauy Jenau Laajjay Tomar Gahbbore Mathaa Lukate Paaree.

Army stealing government funds? Army just takes it all. Why is it in such a poor country that we have a budget in the multi millions to buy Army SUVs keep a staff of 5 for their wives? What does the ACC do about that?

What exactly do we need such a huge budget and army for? Its not like we’ll stand 1 second against any other country. They should send these people out to the UN to get themselves killed more often. Army people signed the death wish, we should give them more action on battle fronts instead of pampering them (so they can stage coups) in Bangladesh.
