While its good to be the talking star in a blog, when it comes to real work, its always the quiet ones who do the work.
I did not get much of a response on my query about the tragic story of Bhobodoho and the call for help to pay for the 550 water clogged students’ SSC examination fee. It seems the quiet ones and the students of different universities now have come forward.
If you are in Dhaka, please go to the show of solidarity tomorrow at Shahid Minar at 1 PM.
Also an update from the young leader Avijit who is in Dhaka now.
We talked to the deputy editor of “The Jugantor” (one of DP-VA member’s father)
and he helped us a lot today. Here are the updates:1) He is helping us in getting all the media (Newspaper and TV Channels)
support for the human chain. Representative of Jessore Jugantor will publish
an article on the current status of the villages within two days.2) He has helped us in tracking down Baikunthu Bihari Roy, who actually did
the survey of how many students need help. He has agreed to come in our human
chain and we will meet with him this Saturday.
How about setting up an account with them, Bhobodoho Pani Nishkashon Songram
Committee.3) All the universities’ students are raising funds. T-Shirts sale is going
on. Poster is being distributed, SMS Account has been created: type “Vobo” at
2233. The money will go towards in aiding the students.4) We have managed to get a 10 second slot in NTV for 10 days. We will work on
it after 25th and get it on AIR after 27th hopefully.
Remember, human chain tomorrow
