After allegedly spending millions of $$ for encouradging international media to write something good about Bangladesh, help apparently comes from an unlikely ally with an interesting twist.
This and this links to a weblog and a New York Times article tells the story of a 23 year old police woman in Dhaka wooeing a San Francisco based journalist into love affair .
What a response to all the biased media propaganda about Bangladesh being another Taliban state where women are stoned to death for extramarital gesture towards man and etc!
Finally after all the shameful activities like journalist beating and mass killing someone from police force is seen involved in some constructive activity :).

I had mixed feelings when I read the story last night at the NYT website. I dont doubt the antecedents of the story. But I thougth that the story smacked a bit of western oriental condescension. I also felt a little embarrased for the our love stricken police woman. But it was an interesting read!
