I’ve just read the Hindustan Times, and it’s like a list of who is who of the lords and ladies.
These days, anybody can claim to be speaking for human rights (Bush, Blair, Avebury, etc). As an “English”man I know very well how the titled people perpetuate the feudalistic injustices in the UK.
I was most impressed to find out that Tagore gave up his title of “Sir”, not that he needed it in the first place. This chap with the appellation “Lord Ahmed” must be from a lowly background, otherwise he wouldn’t have accepted such an insult.
