Someone has collated all the pieces of information of Mr. Nizami in one place. Mr. Nijami, as you know, is the Jamat Leader and industry minister. Just one among many, “Nizami called Shahid Matiur (who was later given the title of Bir Shreshtho) an Indian agent and sent condolences to the father of the Pakistani pilot who fought with him to bring the plane down.
The same Nizami is now concerned about the iamge of Bangladesh and blames the media for its image crisis. Also here he is blaming “indian agents” for the recent bombings.
Take a look at these documents from 1971
Thanks to MR Jalal for putting this together and pointing us to it.

I hope as a nation we feel ashamed for elevating a man to this post whose hands have the blood of bangladeshis. It is more our fauilure than his success. Let us admit that.

Why should we feel ashamed for such a shameless person. Such hypocrates should be banished from the country.

Salam Dhaka! I admit it. So what do we do about it. I think documentations such as these and that the one done for Sayeedi recently are effective ground work. Also that generation is dying. We need to capture their stories before they are not recoverable any more. But the problem is none of us or the political parties are willing to spend time on these issues.

Yes the role of politicians in this field is frustrating, to say the least. No party seems to take a hard line against Jamaat. That is what has brought them to where they are. Well, we have to do it - us the activists.

See posting in NY-Bangla for Nizami’s evil face. This article missed the information that in 1994 inEngineers’ Institute there was a convention presided by Begum Sufia Kamal. There some direct voctims of Nizami’s cadres were presented on the stage describing their torture.

This is so pathetic that Shahid Matiur (who was later given the title of Bir Shreshtho by Bangladesh) is buried in the soil of Pakistan and is being treated as ‘the enemy of the country’ (Gaddar). This is yet understandable as from the Pakistani’s point of view he was no patriotic soldier. But how the person (Nizami) who called Bir Shreshtho Shahid Matiur as traitor and agent of India can be a cabinet member in this Independent Bangladesh? Is this understandable?? Can the new generation answer this???

This BTRC rule to stop so called “moral” decay is a direct example of what Jamaat would do if it stayed in power. 5 more years of Jamaat and we will also be stoning women to death. Women who have been raped would be rotting in jail because they need 4 witnesses of the incident.Women would not be able to drive.
On top of that, Jamaat is guilty of “aiding and abating the enemy”. I don’t care if you support BNP or AL, we have to stand up to these fundamentalist goons and Razakars.
