Census figures for 2001 released on Friday show that the number of Bangladeshi migrants during the decade 1991-2001 was about 280,000, a decrease of 53% from close to 600,000 migrants between 1981 and 1991.

Well, Indian politicians claim there are 20 million or so Bangladeshi migrants in India. It may or may not be as high as that but there is no doubt in my mind the number is significant. Otherwise, why would India put barbed-wire fence at a considerable cost along its long border with Bangladesh?
It is amazing how Bangladesh continues to deny this issue.
