In San Fransisco, Drishtipat arranged a fundraiser event,
"Ashai Boshoti: Campaign
Annada Prashad" with the help of SpaandanB.
Ashai Boshoti raised $9000 in that night!

Yesterday we had our cultural event, Ashai Boshoti in SF
Bay Area. It's a wonderful feeling of brotherhood beyond
our religion, beyond our political preferences, that we
tried to present in front our audience yesterday. We as
Bangladeshi came forward to stand against the crimes and
to protect our minority.
On the spot we raised around $8700. It's beyond our
SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!!
The audience showed their moral support for the cause
which will lead us a long long way.
Children's presentation was unique, they passed around
candles to the audience along with their songs. It
touched everybody. Our Slide presentation went along
with the background song of "Manush Manusher Jonno" by
Bhupen Hajarica. All the local artists and performers
put their heart into it.
Simee from Houston attended the event and recites a
poem. All I can say, what Drishtipat is striving for, is
a noble cause and we should all be very proud of being a
part of Drishtipat.
With all the best wishes.

It was a
BLAST in the Bay Area. I was so amazed and encouraged to
see the dedication of the volunteers...that I can't put it
into words. Most of the organizers haven't had a proper
night of sleep for many many weeks! These people went
beyond their edges to make this program a success. Sultana
apa, Zafar bhai, Rahima apa.....are few to name....
SIMPLY ROCKED!!!!!!!!!! The slide show was AWESOME. All of
you should take a look at it. The tone of the program was
JUST as we intended it to be. Cultural performance was in
accordance to the theme, decoration of the Hall was
perfect to tune the audiences' mind, children's'
performance brought a variety........and most of all, this
program touched the audience's heart and convinced them to
contribute. Almost all of the audience stayed till the end
of the program and they were deeply touched.
THIS WAS GREAT.....the support was beyond expectation. So many people came
to me to learn more about Drishtipat....that my motivation
doubled since I have attended the event. These people in
the Bay Area just ROCKS.....they contributed $8,700+....
Hossain was one of the audience of Ashai
Boshoti. He thanked the organizers by writing,
All the front liners for "Ashai
Congrats on a seamless execution of an auspicious plan.
It shows our moral fiber, our essence, and our sense of
dignity. We did not do any charity, rather we tried to
pay our moral dues and respect to the hapless, battered
brothers and sisters. It was propelled by sense of unity
and utmost empathy.
Not to forget, we'll rise up to the occasion, time and
again, and as many times as it may take.
